The revised Measures of Administration on Agreement for Ship Pollution Response Regime will be implemented on May 20, 2025. Compared to the 2020 version, the new edition introduces significant changes in personnel training, information disclosure and reporting, agreement signing and implementation, and supervision. It specifies training requirements for personnel of ship pollution response units, broadens the scope of information disclosure, clarifies agreement signing timing and conditions, strengthens supervision and inspection frequency, optimizes some provisions, and refines the definition of “self – owned” equipment. These revisions aim to enhance marine environmental protection, improve ship pollution emergency response, and promote the green development of the shipping industry and the sustainable improvement of marine ecosystems.
