Northeast Asian International Shipping Centre arbitration forum was held in Dalian Bangchui Island Hotel recently. This forum was co-hosted by Liaoning Port Group, Dalian Arbitration Committee and Law School of Dalian Maritime University, coordinated by Dalian Law Society and Law School of Shanghai Maritime University. Over 150 scholars, professors and representatives from fields of law, arbitration and enterprises attended the forum. Deputy Mayor Zhang Zhihong as well as persons in charge in Dalian Maritime University and Justice Department of Liaoning Province also attended the forum and made speeches.

Discussions were held in the forum mainly focusing on three aspects, i.e. arbitration safeguard mechanism for the construction of Northeast Asian International Shipping Centre, building relevant legal dispute settlement mechanism for the “Belt and Road” as well as modification to Chinese Arbitration Law. 12 honored guests from the Public Legal Services Authority of Ministry of Justice, the China Academy of Arbitration Law, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China-Asean (Macao) Arbitration Council, the Institute of International Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Hainan Arbitration Committee delivered keynote speeches.

Through discussions, attenders empathized with each other, certain consensus was reached and joint force was formed based on brain storming and mutual communications, which surely will promote arbitration to play a positive role in the opening up and development strategy of China, contributing to the construction of rule of law for Northeast Asian International Shipping Centre.
