Richard Xing, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., Ph.D., graduated from Anhui University, Shanghai Maritime University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He had a joint Ph.D. training at Aarhus University in Denmark and was invited to visit various European countries. He also worked as a research assistant at the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies (LMS) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Since July 2018, Dr. Xing has become an assistant professor at the Law School of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Since December 2019, funded by the Hong Kong Scholar Program, he has been appointed as a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Business of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. So far, he has taught more than ten courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including International Law, Moot Court Training, Legal English, International Trading Law, Private International Law, etc. He has published more than ten peer-reviewed papers and presided over a number of national and provincial research projects.
